Becoming a special educator is a noble and rewarding path. Let's explore some (this is not an exhaustive list) resources and programs in Missouri to help you on your journey. 

1. MO-CASE (Missouri Council of Administrators of Special Education)

    • MO-CASE exists to support the field of special education and develop leaders through advocacy, professional learning, and partnerships.
    • It is a state subdivision of the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE), which is a division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC).

2. Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE):

    • DESE oversees special education services for students and adults with disabilities in Missouri.
    • They administer state and federal funds to support services and operate schools, such as the Missouri School for the Blind, the Missouri School for the Deaf, and the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled.
    • DESE collaborates with local school personnel and families to meet the needs of children with disabilties.
